I heard last night
On the channel 7 news there was enough tickets left to walk up and buy them at the stadium. But that was last night.

Yes, a statement will be made
First statement is we will pound the rock on the ground most of the game. I think we will not throw as much as we normally do. We will throw enough to keep them from stacking the box. With our QB and receiving core, they will not be able to cheat up. We should see some holes open up at the line.
Second statement is for Nevada’s benefit. There will be no large amount of running yards in this game. We will shut down their running QB and RBs. I hope Kapi and company are watching and flinch with anticipated pain that they can expect from the BSU D next week.

I read Clay’s column about Fulmer’s last game. After hearing about how well he treated all of the people around him and how much everyone loved him it made me actually feel a bit for him in his position. Definitely couldn’t question Fulmer’s motives.

Pat Forde’s twitter right now? Its all about how much he loves BSU. And this is the guy who (I think) has Kellen Moore pretty close to the top of his heisman ballot, and has said if BSU goes undefeated this season, he starts them in the top 5 for his preseason ballot next year.

- Kellen isn’t very accurate today. What is wrong?
- Too bad those Kirby plays aren’t turning out. It seems they game planned for him.
- Doug mad. Doug Smach. Martin player of the game so far. 3 TD’s and huge bursts up the middle on key first downs.
- It’s very odd. It doesn’t feel like we’re played very well (cough, Defense, cough), but we’re up big.

So is
the WAC. And the remainder of the Big-12 is better than the remainder of the WAC. I’d put BSU up with Texas (would LOVE that game), but Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State are all better than anyone else in the WAC (see: Missouri killing Nevada this year).

Honestly, the Big 12 is better than the MWC.
Pair up Texas-TCU, then OU, OSU and Nebraska with BYU, Utah, and Air Force. That then leaves Missouri and Texas Tech pairwise with Wyoming and SDSU in the middle. At that point, you can see the dropoff. Both the WAC and MWC fall off in quality much faster than the Big 12.

I don’t see any reason for them to. It’s not like a bottom dweller is a risk to crash the BCS or anything. That, and some of those schools are pretty good in basketball.

Wyoming gets good every once in a while.
When I went to school there, they made #13 in the nation in football at one point. They also made a couple of nice runs in the NCAA tournament in basketball. They had a series of terrible head coaches after Joe Tiller went to Purdue. We’ll see how Christensen does with them.
And New Mexico has had some very good basketball teams in the not-too-distant past. As has UNLV.

back in the day, UNLV had some basketball teams, but Wyoming is incredibly overperforming for what they do right now: this is like the least populated state in the country (give or take one or two). Not taking anything away from Wyoming, because they do amazing given what they have, but they’re just not going to get any better (my opinion, anyways). And maybe Christensen will do something nice. But if you are forward looking, I mean, the Boise metro area I think has as many people as there are in the entire state of Wyoming.
But my point is: New Mexico and Wyoming just have very, very low ceilings. They can (or have) done well with what they have, but their ceilings are just so low.

I'm with you.
They definitely have extremely difficult roads. Wyoming doesn’t even bother recruiting in state, to be honest. (If any worthy players even exist, they’re blindingly obvious, so UW just waits until they make the papers.) The altitude makes for a nice homefield advantage and they can sell a chance for players to get out of state (sometimes out of sketchy home situations), but it’s not as easy to sell as other MWC/WAC schools. And it makes a difference.

I’m actually incredibly impressed with what Wyoming does. I mean, comparable states (Montana, the Dakotas) don’t even have 1-A teams, much less MWC 1-A teams. That Wyoming does as well as it does is very, very cool for them.

The difference is that Wyoming has only one four-year institution.
Makes funding easier.

In a half-and-half jersey of the two schools. Complete fashion nighmare. and one of the most surreal games I’ve ever seen. (It came the Saturday after Fulmer got fired.)
