The Mikrino Poll: Why Tulsa may have a rough night, and other things.
Welcome all the to the Mikrino Poll. A three ring circus of events all in one ring! Without elephants, or any other circus type stuff. OKAY, its just a poll.
This weeks victim opponent, Tulsa, will soon be the target of various nefarious poll questions that make no
sense, have no bearing on the game, and will force you to admit stupidity if you choose the wrong one, but before then let's find out why Tulsa has a University. And how to keep that from happening again.
Formerly Henry Kendall College, Tulsa played their first game of football in 1895(I know it says kimball, but its Kendall). Idaho became a state in 1890. Advantage Tulsa. Apparently being called the Kendallites took its toll on the players, who voted to change to The Golden Hurricane in 1922 and never looked back. Boise State and Tulsa have squared off four times. Boise State being one the happy end of all four, of course. You may recall the last game in 2004. The Broncos burst out to their customary quick lead only to play catch up most of the second half, eeking out a close win on a last second Tyler Jones field goal. Lesson: Don't sleep on Tulsa.
Tulsa is a rough derivation of the Creek Indian word "Tallasi" meaning "Old Town", which coincidentally, rhymes with "BEAT DOWN". Which is what I think Boise State will bring to Oklahoma on Wednesday night on national TV. I truly think this will be "statement" time for the Broncos, so does Kyle Wilson. Nobody will give Tulsa any credit after a Boise State win, but they're a good team nonetheless. So be prepared.
Regardless, Boise State needs a decisive win against Tulsa to stay where they are in the polls after being jumped by USC for basically being Boise State. The BCS Rankings are going to debut after next weekend's games and a good showing on Wednesday will definitely help the Broncos cause.
The ESPN Message Boards are lively this week. Providing nuggets such as this;
TULSA. Wow another "Pressure Cooker" for BOISE ST. After watching the BAMA game on Saturday I have an announcement. I think LB ROLANDO McCLAIN could stop those SISSY Broncos by HIMSELF!!!
With that declaration of wisdom, onto the poll!

I figure, hey...go big or go home...so I picked the first choice!
I do have a slight concern after looking at the trend of the last 4 games (granted, I don’t buy it…but it still got me thinking/worrying/drinking):
2001 Boise State wins 41-10 in Boise (31 point victory)
2002 Boise State wins 52-24 in Tulsa (28 point victory)
2003 Boise State wins 27-20 in Boise (7 point victory)
2004 Boise State wins 45-42 in Tulsa (3 point victory)
So my conclusion is that Kyle Wilson is right and we need to make this a statement game…and increase our current 17.25 point margin of victory over this team back to the 31 we started with…if I remember math at all, we only need an 86 point win to do that (I’ll take 80 and just round up)!
On the upside, we always score more in Tulsa than we did in Boise (oddly)…and we know their defense and offense, as they stole both from us (don’t bother me with facts if I’m wrong here…it would discredit my argument)…so we should be able to do this.
If playing in blue uniforms on a blue field is an unfair advantage, then isn't wearing green uniforms on a green field also an unfair advantage?
Help!
I want to find a video of Karl Malone during the La Tech game. Heard it was funny but never saw it. youtube gave me no success. I figured the Mikrino Poll was a good place for all thing random. Let me know if you have success?

Dude...
Yer poaching killer Know Your Enemy factoids. I challenge you to a duel (pistols at sunset or nerf bows and arrows at sunrise…your pick)
Ahh you can do it!
There’s plenty more info out there. I toned it down this week because I figured I was stepping on your toes a bit. Next week I’ll just make stuff up!
Boise State - The best in all the land (The "land" being Idaho, and large parts of California, Oregon, and Nevada.)
That's what I always do...why let facts get in the way of a good story!
