Bowl Pick 'Em: Beat the OBNUG, maybe win a prize!

That was a fun year. Overall, I went 67-46-2 with my weekly picks, which is not too bad considering the irregularity of WAC teams. It was certainly better than the Press-Tribune's Phil Dailey. Unfortunately, Joe Hughes' picks were not readily available.

Now it's your turn.

I am proud to introduce OBNUG's first annual Bowl Pick 'Em contest!

We'll be using ESPN because it's easy and we're lazy. It'll be a straight pick 'em, so no spreads or anything, but you'll rank your picks in order of confidence. I guess ESPN doesn't want to perpetuate any sort of gambling. Whatever. You'd think after all the years that newspapers have been publishing spreads, we'd be over this by now.

Here are the details:

  1. Join via our group homepage at ESPN.com.
    URL: http://games.espn.go.com/bowlmania/group?groupID=4902
    Group password: obnug.

  2. Come up with a team name of your choosing (i.e., "Augusto Rush"), select which teams you think will win (i.e., "Boise State"), and rank them according to how confident you feel (i.e., "very much so").

  3. Compete against the guys at OBNUG and scores of readers and Bronco fans.

Feel free to invite your friends and family to come compete against us, too. We'll have a great prize for the winner, and it might even have monetary value!

I'll be back next week with a full run down of all the bowls and their spreads for another off the grid sort of picks contest. Stay tuned, and get picking!
