Penultimate BCS standings spell doom for BSU

The Broncos, following their 61-10 demolition of Fresno State, stayed put at No. 9 in the second-to-last BCS rankings released yesterday. Looks like our bribe of butter cookies and cash did not pay off.

I say Boise State and Ohio State face off for that final BCS spot. Next Saturday. Bronco Stadium. Bring it, Buckeyes.

Alot of years ohio st. has benefitted from sitting out and backing in to these big bowl games and have always argued, "look at the bcs standings thats why we are going" well I am looking this year and your behind us with two losses in games you quit at halftime in one and the other you mustered up two pitiful fgs. Boise St. is more deserving and the Fiesta bowl has to recognize this and do what is best for the fans across the country. Ohio st. would be better served to battle Ball St. in Detroit and fill the Dome (it will be the best football seen in that city in years) wouldnt that be the best thing to do. I also enjoy the thought of OU vs. Boise St. II if they lose to Missouri and Texas would be a challenge for Coach Pete too. Utah vs. Boise St. is as legit as a National Title as your gonna get if that was in the Fiesta Bowl like Tim Brando talked about. I was shocked when he broke it.

I think there is a slim chance that the Bronco's get selected over Ohio State as an at-large birth. The Orange Bowl even though it has the last team selection indicated they will probably have the ACC and Big East champs.
That likely means the Fiesta Bowl will get the extra at-large team.
As mentioned, BSU is the higher rated team in the BCS standings.
Proximity and BSU's fan attendance at the last Fiesta invite should mitigate any "fan base" concerns for the bowl committee. The Fiesta Bowl rating for the BSU vs Oklahoma game already showed there is no need to be concerned about TV viewers. Especially if it is a rematch with the Sooners. (Yikes!)
ESPN getting and extending the BCS contract means more years of no playoffs and good ol' boys controversies. With the POTUS in waiting giving lip service to the need for a playoff, it is only a matter of time before Congress starts to threaten some type of anti-trust chatter. Inviting a second non-BCS team in lieu of a Big Ten power would go a long way in quieting any political interference.

can anyone talk here?

man up broncs and we will meet you in san diego and decide who had the legitamte win over OU….bsu on trickerations against a demoralized OU( they though they were playing a clown college) or the Horned Frogs in Norman on 1st game of year when Sooners were ready and rested or another vist to Norman where we held them to 27 yds rushing.

here's a sales pitch…you can drink beer in charger stadium.

its that or ball state in sherveport. you can't possibly be considering playing the next to worst team on the east coast in boise. are your afraid of flying? or losing?

Boise State vs. Utah would certainly be interesting. It would be a blowout. But it would be interesting.

Yeah, like we get to consider anything. We would love to replay 2003 with Totally Crappy University, but with an undoubtedly larger margin of victory.
Use the sales pitch on your own fans. Bronco Nation is the best traveling non-BCS school as been proven this year, last year, the Fiesta Bowl, etc.
Funny that Oklahoma allowed themselves to lose to a clown college. That must make their loss even more bitter to take, considering they thought they should've been playing for a national title that season.
Yes, anyone CAN talk here, but you have proven that not everyone can make valid or even coherent statements.

have you ever been to shreveport?

wake forest at the truck stop bowl?

both those game would perserve your desire to avoid competition.

or # 11 frogs,(with our #2 defense), in a stadium that serves beer!

i was looking at sagrain SOS….good thing there is 167 teams otherwise you would be in -9th place.

utah isn't going to happen for you…nor OU. sorry about that , really.

but prove your mettle and meet an actual football team. if a big city scares you , you can stay in the hotel.

we may even lobby for you to join MWC.

Wow! Graham Watson said what I thought she would not say. And maybe she said it to protect her failing reputation…. She said Boise State deserves the at large bid over Ohio State. Well, if Graham says so, maybe her superiors will listen to her!—-maybe not…

She probably wants a free trip to another BCS game. But we'll take the support however we can get it.

Fiesta could be either BSU vs. Texas or Ohio State vs. Texas. Ohio State travels better, has a more national following, slightly better (BCS) conference, and better tv ratings than Boise State. They also have two more losses, bad recent history in the BCS, and more national distaste for them due to their recent stinking up of the BCS. Still, I bet they get the BCS call again this year and lose BIG again to a better opponent.
I don't see Oklahoma losing the BIG 12 Championship or staying out of the national title.
