Poinsettia Bowl final score: TCU 17, Boise State 16
The Broncos were inches and plays and holding penalties away from coming home with a win, but it wasn't meant to be. Give the Horned Frogs credit; they played a great game. Mark May sure agrees.
Immediately after the game, we were bummed. Tomorrow, we hope to be content with a one-of-a-kind season that exceeded everyone's expectations. But in the meantime, we're going to need a moment.
We'll do one or two reaction posts tomorrow (Wednesday/Christmas Eve), shut it down for Christmas day, and be back with a couple more posts on Friday. Until then, feel free to leave your post-game thoughts in the comments or shoot us a depressing email. See you tomorrow.

Nice year, if you call beating oregon and the rest of your patsies a good year, but that is all you can hope for in the WAC. This is as good as it gets for boise, why as a recruit would you want to go there. Better start scheduling some of the big dogs for your non-conference games, and big dogs means teams from the Big 12, SEC…. The rest of the nation has caught on to your "undefeated" seasons and you will never see a BCS bowl game until your schedule looks like this:
USC
Texas
Florida
BHS
Idaho St. culinary school
SJSU school for the blind
and the rest of the WACK.
By the way, in case you didn't know, Boise is not a state.

the problem is those schools wont play us. Wasn't there a big blog on here about how we ask big schools to play us and they turn us down?!?

Great game that we kind of gave away toward the end. Or maybe TCU took it away, not sure which. Who let Zabransky get out there in the fourth? I had just turned to my wife and said, "We'll still probably lose this, but at least Zabransky isn't there to throw an interception." Then that happened. Ouch! Next time I'll keep my mouth shut and Boise State will win.

Total Plays 55 87
NET YARDS RUSHING 28 275
See if you can guess which column is BSU.
Game was a lot closer than it should have been. Just be happy with your "one-of-a-kind season that exceeded everyone’s expectations". Of course I would like to know what the "expectations" were?

Byron Hout should have run that interception in. Brandyn Thompson should have picked off the ball at the 50 yard line with 2 minutes left. Brotzman should have made that field goal. It's ridiculous to say the game should have been anything else than what it was cause it will not be.
I think they meant one of a kind because expectations were not very high to start the year. For me personally I thought a loss at oregon and another one or two somewhere along the way were probable with a freshman qb and an inexperienced O-Line. It's not one of a kind in the sense that they had an undefeated regular season because that happens every other year.

If only…
If only Ellis Powers had caught one of those two interceptions he had thrown directly to him…
If only the holding penalty hadn't been called while Ian ran to the endzone…
If only Brontzman hadn't missed that field goal…
If only we didn't false start like 10 times on one drive…
If only Byron Hout could have finished off that wacky interception/heisman caliber run with a touchdown…
If only Kellen hadn't of thrown a Zabransky on first and ten with 1:50 left…
Alas, it was not meant to be.
All of these "what ifs" will just feed the fire for next year's team to get even better.

I attribute it to the youth of our team, the future is bright. I'm still coping, but, the future is bright.

I'm still reluctant to say the Moutain West is that good.

At least we are all true fans. No one pick the Broncos to lose on their Bowl Pick'em and we all kept our same rankings. I still can't believe my wife is beating all three of my picks, UUHHRR!!!
It kinda reminds me of this:
